The world has always been run by the rich and powerful, and that's not likely to change in a big hurry, but the computer, the internet particularly, has everyone trying to make the future go their way because it's up for grabs, so it looks like this is our chance if we're willing to invest the decade or two it will take.
It will take hundreds of millions of enlightened people working cooperatively and efficiently to change the course of history by positive nonviolent action, but we are not lacking in number or ability, only organization and will, and really only in will because given the will, the organization will come, and we do have the will if we see the way, and we are beginning to see the way.
What the internet makes possible, even inevitable, is a world government that runs by persuasion instead of by force, because nobody can force anybody anything on the internet, yet there is such a need for coordination there that everyone is working on it, and with that much concentrated brainpower, a good answer will be found, technically good and morally good, too, because evil cannot agree with itself on a global scale where there is no enemy to hate, so join us at http://intermix.org. the home of InterMix Community Software for the Web, where nonviolence makes the mix work!
